This course is an introduction to the basic principles of cave diving using one main guideline. Intro to Cave Diving is the second level in the development of proper techniques for cave diving, based directly on the Cave Diver course. This Introduction to Underground Diving is not intended to train divers in all facets of underground diving. The objective of this course is the refinement of the skills taught in the Underground Diver program, in addition to the adoption of additional techniques and procedures required for basic underground diving.



Who this course is for:

• The TDI Cavern certified diver or equivalent who wants to move forward with air diving and develop their diving techniques, skills and more!

Course Prerequisites

(these requirements must be met prior to the start of the course):

• Minimum age 18, 15 years old with parental permission
• Provide proof of TDI Cavern Diver certification or equivalent

Some of the required skills you will need to demonstrate include:

• Properly deploy a guideline
• Correctly use line markers
• Correctly follow an instruction with eyes open and closed (simulating loss of visibility)
• Airshift with a buddy with eyes open, following a guideline
• Share the air with a buddy with lights off and eyes closed, using touch and feel while following the guideline
• Remove and replace mask when in contact with guideline
• Demonstrate conservation, awareness and back referencing techniques
• Demonstrate light/manual cues and tactile contact
• Demonstrate anti-spill techniques
• Simulate a main light failure and use the emergency light to exit
• Demonstrate buoyancy control, proper trim and propulsion techniques
