First aid – FRTI (First Response Training International)

Emergency first response training focuses on building the confidence of lay rescuers to respond to medical emergencies. Course participants learn simple steps to administer emergency care and practice proper techniques in a non-stressful learning environment. All courses are supported by self-study tools and quick reference cards to enhance learning and enable you to start learning immediately.
FRTI courses meet the CPR and first aid requirements of the Rescue Diver course and all professional level qualifications. Most scuba instructors are also emergency responders.

.
The following FRTI courses are based on internationally recognised medical guidelines for emergency care.

Primary Care (CPR) – This course teaches you the steps and techniques for managing life-threatening emergencies. You will learn eight techniques to help patients who are not breathing, have no pulse, have a possible spinal cord injury, are in shock or are bleeding heavily
Secondary Care (First Aid) – Many medical conditions are not life threatening and medical help may be delayed or unavailable, so this course teaches you to provide care that reassures, eases pain and reduces the risk of more serious injury.
